150 hats done
Started June 16 with a goal of 50 hats but turned into 150 hats for Rady Hospital in San Diego.
Thank you Barbara, Becky and Cheryl from the Escondido Knit & Crochet Lunch Bunch for donating yarn.
Times Square poncho
I love this poncho. It is by Norah Gaughan and can be found on revelry. Not free. I can't say I enjoyed knitting this pattern, but I love it. It took be about a month. The purl 3 together stitch in the pattern did not help my arthritis. My hands would ache at the end of the night. It's an easy knit tho. I used Tahki Yarns soufflé in blueberry. So soft.
I would love this in black, but I don't think that is going to happen!!
Dress for my granddaughter
Off to kindergarten!
Used various sport weight yarn from stash.
Pattern, Dress up for the rainbow, can be found atwww.handmadebysynnove.blogspot.no
Pattern calls for grey alternating with a self-striping yarn.
The neckline, 8 rows of garter stitch, came out rather floppy. Suggest smaller needle for neckline or, as I did, a row of crochet chain stitch on the back of the top edge, to firm it up a little.
Wish I'd put the yellow first rather than the middle, but, oh well.
For my three year old granddaughter. With matching beanie.
Fun Christmas Socks !
Just finished these using Abi Grasso's Gingerbread Stripe yarn.
She has lots of colorful yarns that are lovely to knit with ! http://www.artisticyarnbyabi.com
The Gingerbread Stripe was from the 'Self Striping Sock Yarn' section.
Another Christmas gift done !
Thank you for looking, these were really fun to knit.
I am totally frustrated. I don't know if it's the hype or what after all I am a yarn addict. I have been trying to find car on cakes. I have to have it delivered as I am house bound. Michaels doesn't deliver called Hurshbergers.they said they don't carry it. Help
I bought the Red Heart "Unforgettable" yarn (Dragonfly) because I simply loved the beautiful colorway. I seem to choose the color before I look at the brand name. This shawl was started before I fell on the Vancouver ferry boat and fractured ribs and bruised my kidney. It was intended to be finished before ending the vacation so that I could give it to my God-daughter who lives in Vancouver, but that didn't work out. The knitting was put aside until a week ago when it was completed. The pattern is from Skeino (free) and I believe was called zig-zag.
I couldn't believe how close the pattern (which I found after I'd purchased the yarn) resembled the Unforgettable yarn I had. I still have to find out if my GD would like it after blocking.
I find the SSK to be awkward and time consuming. I have been substituting k2tog through the back loops. It makes the stitches slant to the left like SSK does and seems faster and easier to me.
Am I making a mistake?
Haven't posted anything for a while , but have been knitting .

The hoodie has cute basketball buttons that don't show up well.
