A couple of Huggleberry Bears ready to be packed
But of course I can't pack them until the last minute because I'd feel bad them being squeezed into Himself's suitcase. He's off to visit family next week (
) and he asked me for a couple of bears for a new great niece and nephew. So many little ones in our family these days!!
Thought I'd finished and then ..........
they asked for smart sweaters to keep them warm en route!
My first Stuffed Kitty
I just finished my first "Happy Pet" Kitty and though it isn't perfect, I'm very pleased. I didn't use DK yarn, but just some yarn I had on hand. You can't see it in the picture but there is a gold thread throughout the main body color. The pattern is a purchased pattern from Twins. I hope you like it!
Leafy glen shell
The pattern for this shell was in a book about wool and this is my second time I have made it. This time for myself. I added some extra length to it because the size small was too short for me. I used silky wool yarn which is a blend of wool nylon and silk and it is very nice to work with. I enjoyed this pattern the second time as well as the first. Now up to knitting some baby project for the soon to be born babies. Might make one more summer top later...:)
Summer project: Crocheted Tablecloth
As the summer heat continues, I am working with non wool yarns.
This is 90% cotton, 10% nylon from a 5000 yard cone purchased from ColourMart.com (for $20 !)
The pattern is from the June 1999 "Magic Crochet"...#120.
Easy (for me) charts produced this tablecloth in one week, no sweat !!
Another lapghan for my golf tournament
Every year I knotva lapghan as one of the raffle prizes for my Inner Club's member-guest tournament. This year's theme is "the 60s". So I decided to do something in th pop art theme.
Finally finished the Minjia poncho!
Well, it may have taken a long time but I'm very pleased with the result! I still have to weave in the ends, then wash and block it, which will hopefully make the hem and front detail lie a little flatter. Any tips or advice on blocking will be gratefully received, as I've haven't done it before. I've got the blocking mats and pins ready....
Hope you like it
Just completed. Used Bernard Pops nut was not enough so I had to but a Caron Cakes to finish it. Would be a size 3 to 4
This is quite a milestone
Not sure whether this should be in chat or pictures but here goes I started this baby blanket 2 years ago as my knit at hospital project but I only managed a few rows at each appointment as the Chemo affected my fingers as well as my brain. I picked it up and put it down so many times also thinking there was a lot of fear and angst in those first few inches so I wouldn't be able to give it away But now almost 2 years to the day it's done and I feel really positive about it and can't wait for some little person to come along so I can gift it full of love
New shawl "Waves of Happiness" with adaptations
Just finished this shawl for my future sister in law. I haven't met her yet. The wedding is on Sept 3.
For the first time in my life I used a pattern with the above name. When it was finished it was more like a scarf than a shawl, so I added Saw tooth edge on the bottom, and a lattice design on the top. I also added a triangular bit on each end. Hope she likes it. The little specks you can see are tiny gold sequins woven in to the yarn.
Problems with Yarn Paradise
Is anyone else having problems with Ice yarn shipments? I placed orders on July 8th and July 12th. They say they have both been shipped. They give a tracking #, which does not work. Since they have quit using DHL as the shipper things have really gone down hill. I was receiving my parcels within 2-3 days
