I started this a year ago with some yarn that was a great clearance sale. Ripped it out several times as I couldnât get the instructions in my head. Put it aside and picked it up again a few days ago. This time it finally clicked and here it is. I really like it.
Whew. It took a few days but I finally finished 2 bunnies! They are a pattern from Gypsycream called Elderberry Bunnies. I had all intentions of getting them done last week, but I had to wait for the eyes to come in the mail. With these two done, I can start on a fuzzy gray one and a fuzzy pink one for my Mom for Easter.
Two disgusting new people
How do we get rid of Hoonan and something666 - or whatever their stupid names are? The pictures are not so ething I want to see and their mental health is obviously down the tubes.
" Blue Rock Bindweed" Shawl by Tatiana Zmanovskaya.
This is a lacy with a lot of beads shawl, so need to be 'Advanced knitter' to follow chart on both sides. I used 70% Lambs wool, 30% Angora (rabbit hair) and silk yarn from my stash. My needles are 3 1/2 mm = US 4. My beads size 6/0 in color 'Metallic Silver', 'Turquoise Luster',' red' and 'Mixes Fire'. For bind off at the bottom I used needles US=6 ( 4 1/4 mm). Here it is :
Driving to Florida
I managed to knit my grandson two pair of socks while enroute to Florida. I always offer to drive...but then my husband doesn't knit.
New Yarn Bowl
My son surprised me today when he stopped by with an unexpected gift, a hand made yarn bowl!
Dishcloth pattern turned into a scarf
While I was knitting my umpteenth dishcloth, Husband said why don't you continue the pattern and make it into a scarf? Then he suggested making a second one in variegated yarn.
So I did!
That is only the second time in almost 45 years of marriage that he has asked me to make him anything. The other item was a hat, and he still wears it - somewhere around 43 years ago he requested it.
My DD's friend inherited a tiny chihuahua who was shivering in the winter wind, so guess who got asked for a sweater? I never knitted a dog sweater before but bravely/foolishly said OK. Here's the result. She doesn't seem to mind an amateur job so long as it keeps her warm.
It will happen to all of us some day.
Definition of "OLD"
I very quietly confided to my best friend that I was having an affair. She turned to me and asked, "Are you having it catered?" And that, my friend, is the sad definition of "OLD"
Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked,
"How old was your husband?" "98," she replied: "Two years older than me"
"So you're 96," the undertaker commented. She responded, "Hardly worth going home, is it?
Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman: "And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No peer pressure."
I've sure gotten old! I have outlived my feet and my teeth, had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
New knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes, I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
Take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.
I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to
Join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.
I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But,
by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.
An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests.
First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart.
"Wal-Mart?" the preacher exclaimed. "Why Wal-Mart?" "Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week"
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.. also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Know how to prevent sagging?
Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.
It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.
These days about half the stuff in my shopping cart says, 'For fast relief.'
THE SENILITY PRAYER :
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
The good fortune to run into the ones I do, and
The eyesight to tell the difference.
Now, I think you're supposed to share this with 5 or 6, maybe 10 others.
Oh heck, give it to a bunch of your friends if you can remember who they are!
Alas & Woe, lost project bag
Yesterday, Feb 14th, At Veterans Medical Center, Richmond, VA. Main building, 1st Floor. I lost track of my small cotton flower print project bag, that contained a half finished hat, a set of dpns, Size 3, 6" from a Knit Picks sock set, the start of a second hat with 2 dpns, maybe size 8? And of course two balls of yarns.
Brought the knitting in case I was able to get a appt with the eye clinic after my other morning appt and had to wait a long time between. Yes, I got someone's cancelled afternoon appt and yes it was a long wait in-between the two appts. So I did lunch and walked around a lot, was carrying too many things, coat, book, project bag and coffee.
Check all the areas that I was in, once, twice and thrice, plus lost and found. Lost and found took my number and description of bag. I'll be back there for another appt next week and will check again with them again.
