Check your newer credit cards for the Wi-Fi Symbol on it. You need to watch the video. Stay safe!

Now I know why many of our shop customers have either a sleeve for their card or a metal wallet.

Brilliant video thank you for that I have just informed my family although we in the UK do not have the wifi symbol yet (well we personally dont) but at least we now know what to do about it if we get one. My daughter said they have been selling the metal card holders for a while in the UK now we know why.

Thanks for the advice, will let my nearest and dearest know, of this I had read of it in magazine recently and could not really believe that it was possible, but these days any thing goes.

Bye Mathilde

I saw a video about this and checked my cards - one of my bank credit cards had the symbol! I immediately checked my bank statement online to make sure the card hadn't been scanned and I had unknown charges on there - and now the card's carefully wrapped in foil until I get a metal sleeve or wallet for it.

Thank you, that was a good video. I remember an NCIS tv segment where they had one of those readers, BUT it was catching credit card numbers from people just walking by, but obviously the credit card companies have taken extra precautions. It appears to take close contact for the cards to be read now. However, I plan to use an aluminum foil envelope from now on.

Thank you for both links. I have now wrapped my cc in aluminum foil. It never hurts to take precautions.
