Hello I am new to this site. I am a past avid machine knitter with four machines. I am looking for a machine knit hat with a brim on the front. PS I havent used my machines for
twelve years and am just starting out again. Any advice appreciated Lynda

Congratulations for getting out the machines! I'm doing the same thing---have a little time now that I"m retired! Don't forget to replace the sponge bar!

Thanks for the heads up on the sponge bar, but I have already made the repairs. I did the do it yourself and worked so well. I noticed however that my ribber does not have a songe in the bar. It is new I have not use it yet. I did most of my knitting on the passap e6000. Now with time, I hope to do much more. thanks again Lynda :D

Check your manual for the ribber - if it's a Brother it doesn't have a sponge on the ribber needle retaining bar - not sure about Singer machines.

Hi,

The My Blue Heaven site showed a cap and scarf that I would very much like to make.

It showed the picture, but I have not yet been able to get to the pattern.

Hi Lynda

Don't forget to check online, especially Youtube for knitting machine videos to help.
Also, there are several knitting machine groups on facebook.
One such place is Machine Knitting Patterns, were we help each other and talk about more than just machine knitting. Then there is Machine Knitting Friends. Also, there are knitting machine groups on yahoo. You'll have to do a search on groups.yahoo.com and just type in machine knitting or knitting machine and it should bring up lists of the groups on yahoo.

Good luck.
I haven't dug mine out for more than a couple of years, just need to find the space to setup.

My Blue Heaven patterns are mostly for bulky machines. If you don't have a bulky, you should check out another site.

I use my knitting machine just about everyday. Have been knitting little 3ply socks for the orphans in Romania. Will post a photo as soon as I get some of them sewn up. At the moment the count is 25 pairs ranging from toddlers to about 9 year olds.No 2 socks turn out the same as I run three strands of 1ply through the machine at the same time.

God bless you.

I need to try 3 strands together.

May I please have your pattern?

I am allergic to wool, so I use the synthetics.

Is it worth changing yarns each pass, to knit 2 at one time?

Thank you, carolyn.tolo@gmail.com

Carolyn
