Hello everyone,

I hope that everything is well with all of you. I was wondering-- does anyone know where I can find free dickie patterns, whether crochet or knit?

Thanks

I have a pattern for a woman's dickie that is knit sideways and has lace and points on the bottom. I can post it if you like.

Hello Sequana,

I would LOVE for you to post it; thank you! :)

I've actually found the online free pattern for it. I'm currently adjusting the pattern to lengthen all but the neck part, and am using 12mm and eyelash yarn to make a shawl to either wear alone or over a coat.

Hope you like this one.

Hey Sequana,

Thanks so much. Interestingly, I saw this pattern eons ago but didn't consider it until now. It is by far the prettiest and most feminine dickey. I will give it a try. I am also thinking about adding a few buttons to make it easier to take off. If you or someone has suggestions, please let me know. I figured that since it's knitted sideways that it won't be a big deal to add buttonholes for buttons.

Thanks again :)

Forgot to add--

How long is the dickey how many yards did you use?

This pattern comes down to mid-breast. The printed pattern I have says to make an extra piece and sew it on for the buttonholes. I just space out 3 or 4 buttonholes on the last row before cast off and do a *yo, k2tog* for the buttonholes. Hope this info helps. As for the revision I'm working on, it comes down to the wrist. As your yardage, not finished yet so I'm not sure. lol

Thanks for your help. I definitely have more than enough yarn for this pattern, that's for sure!!
