I knit alot of hats and scarves. i am searching for a place to donate my projects in/around corvallis, oregon. i send stuff to the homeless shelter and to vinna mosses but am looking for a place to donate chemo caps. does anyone know of a place. i live on a small income and cannot afford to ship donations.
You might contact your local American Cancer Society. Another option would be to check with any major medical facility, such as a hospital, or an Oncology office in your area. Perhaps checking with your LYS, they very often have people who donate to various charities. As a survivor, I thank you for caring about cancer patients. Not all of whom have friends or family to take care of them.
thanks for the tips. i contacted the local hospital and they don't take donations of caps. i will look up oncology offices to see where this may lead. so glad you beat your Big C moment in life.
Call your American Cancer Society and see if they accept hats. You could also try your local food pantries they hand out hats during cold weather.
Please look up chemo hat donations online. There are multiple sites who would be delighted to receive your hats made with love. There are also some guidelines as chemo patients can have very sensitive skin. Good luck, and thank you for your kindness, Kate
