I want to change a v-neck cardigan pattern to a round neck. How many inches before the wanted length do I decrease for the neck. Hope someone can help.

Depends on what ply wool you are using, but for double knit I would need 16-20 rows and you cast a few stitches off then decrease each row and may also do a few rows straight. Perhaps someone will explain more clearly.

It's usually 2 1/2 - 3" (center front) lower than back neck then you shape the neck edge (decrease both sides gradually) until the shoulders have the same number of stitches as the back shoulders, then continue straight knitting until same length as back.

Thank you Diane. That makes sense. All the best.
