Hi everyone,

Has anyone used the GoBookee website to download books. They offer many books free and you can download them immediately. But they also have free books (larger or more rare, or important I guess ???) where you can download them free, BUT, you have to provide credit card information. I wrote them once and they said that it was mainly to verify that you were in the United States.

Here is a link to their website, I was just wondering if anyone on KP has used this..

http://www.gobookee.net

Thanks,

I haven't used the site. I would be wary of using a site that required your giving them your credit card info when you didn't have to actually pay for anything on the site. The excuse that it is needed to verify that you are from the US sounds like just that--an excuse to get your info.
It may be legit. If others have used it and had no problems, I hope they let you know.

Yup! I personally wouldn't touch a site like this.

I wouldn't like or give them credit card info. never heard of the site before.

Plenty of legit free books at amazon and barns/noble. If they don't have it free and the other site does, I'd question the legality of that site.

I don't know whether you can really download the entire book. Tested once, only excerpt. Since then never returned. Will also get away because of the credit card issue too.

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. I have decided that the book I want is one that I would rather pay for than give out my information and then be afraid of identity theft.

You are all so great to give me your opinions.

You can get used books at Amazon and I think at Barnes and Noble. Much cheaper and I have found them to be in good condition.
