Are you able to share the sock and mitten patterns? I also have a 3 year old (Grandson) who loves rainbow colors.

Best advice...thanks and have a great day!

Definitely use what works best for you....
I like doing two at a time on a shorter needle so there is not so much moving of the cable. You basically just keep knitting in a circle, but change yarns at end of the item. It works well for mittens, because you can shape for the thumb at the middle, just like you wear them. So technically one mitten is backwards on the needle. I have also done them with two shorter circulars, with half the stitches on each needle using the same technique.

I also do sleeves and pant legs this way, and am working on toe up socks currently. This way all shaping is done at the same place and I don't have to count rows to be sure I do the second one the same as the first.

Thanks for the description and the pic. Pictures are always helpful to augment the words and make them clearer.
