Many years ago, I bought a Fiskar serrated edge scissors and they were a dream...never dulled, cut through slippery plastic wraps, cardboard, and I even used them in cutting up meat. There was a definite fine serrated edge, orange handle. Well, I made the mistake of letting someone borrow them and in return I got an orange handle Fiskar WITHOUT the serrated edge. The borrower even tried to convince them that she felt a serrated edge. C'mon. No way. I've gone on line trying to find a replacement for my serrated edge Fiskars and I'm not seeing the exact thing. Perhaps it went the way of "if it's really good, let's discontinue it." I'm so annoyed. Do any of you know what I'm talking about? Do anyone of you have a source for the Fiskar orange handle serrated edge scissors? I hope I'm not making too much of this, but, darn!, they were a great tool and now they are gone. Sigh.

Thanks. It looks like I won't find an exact replacement. They were not pinking sheers, they had a serrated edge and really were fantastic. What is commonly sold now is a "razor edge" which will need to be sharpened and not as sturdy as what I had lost. Not a huge deal, but very annoying that a lesser quality was swapped for what I had lent. Lesson learned. "Neither a borrower nor a lender be." quote from William Shakespeare works Hamlet.

Thank you. It looks like this is the closest I'll get to a replacement which will not travel out of my sight...hate to be like that but, gesh, yet another expense. At least these new ones will be a good substitute. Who knows? I may even like them better! Sigh.

I suspect that what you had was micro serrated shears. They do have a pair of sewing scissors that are available with micro serrations. I saw them on Amazon within the last month, but couldn't find them when I looked just now.

But they have something even better. They have a new line of "Amplify" scissors, and one model of them is for dressmaking and has micro serrations.

You can find them here: http://smile.amazon.com/Fiskars-Amplify-Serrated-Fabric-Shears/dp/B00R0X4XAS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459509214&sr=8-2&keywords=serrated+fiskars+shears

The Amplify scissors, have a small arm that keeps the two blades right up next to each other. It cuts down on hand fatigue, and makes it really easy to cut through almost anything. They're a bit more expensive, but really worth it.

But you should be aware though, that there are other brands and styles of scissors that are available with micro serrations. Check these out:

These are advertised as nail scissors, but I have a pair like them intended as snips for embroidery, and I love them and use them all the time: http://smile.amazon.com/Seki-Edge-Acrylic-Nail-Scissors/dp/B000SRVQ26/ref=sr_1_23_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1459510118&sr=8-23&keywords=serrated+scissors

There are a variety of different kinds of serrated scissors here, and the ones that are about 5 to 6 inches are also excellent for cutting hair. They actually cut it instead of making the hair just slide out between the blades like sharper scissors do. Serrated scissors are superior for anything that includes fiber, like yarn and fabric.

Also, eBay may have the same scissors. I find many of my favorite products that have been discontinued on eBay.
I wasn't recommending that anyone buy from Amazon, although I do like them a lot.

But I like to find products on there to show the exact product I mean because there are usually a few (sometimes many) reviews of product on their page. So you have a chance to read what other people who used the product think about it instead of what the maker wants you to know.

It's my rule not to lend anything I would get ticked off not getting back. I've lost too much stuff lending it out. Some things can't be replaced and a similar item just isn't the same. I hope your 'friend' will come up with the goods, for you.

I know exactly what you are talking about, I have a pair of Mundial scissors with finely serrated edges that I use for slipper fabrics. They are readily available, I got mine 10 years ago at Hancock fabrics and Jo-Ann's might carry them in store but thay are available on line.

I have those scissors. You are correct; they are the best kitchen scissors ever! They are most likely no longer available, as most things that good are not. I have used them every day for many years for everything from chicken, clipping herbs, to opening postal packages. I am truly sorry that you lost them, but I now appreciate how precious mine are. Thank you for reminding me of the worth of small, everyday things that we take for granted.
