Interesting, the sound was dreadful so I used closed captions, the person doing it was obviously not a knitter, kept typing pearl instead of purl. As you say the second one was very helpful.
Ruth, are you sure you watched the one posted by Elle above? The sound was perfect here and I didn't see any print on the screen with 'pearl' or anything else written on it.

I couldn't get the sound, either. It was very interesting, thanks. I'll have to remember to use the bobby pin for cables.
Very useful. I have to buy some bobby pins! When I use a cable needle it seems so awkward, and the stitches tend to slip off. I also like the hint re long tail cast on, and the stitch markers idea - I keep getting mine snagged in the yarn and have to range the yarn out of them to keep knitting.
Oh good- it wasn't just the dinosaur computer I have here at school (on my lunch 20 min, so no one please be upset I'm enjoying myself at school!) I did get the tiniest bit of sound. Had to hug the tower to hear it. Love and will use #1,2, and 5! Thanks for sharing.
just my opinion here but if you crochet crocheted cast on has far less waste and after trying it a time or two I have discovered I love it and don't do longtail caston anymore...nicer edge both cast on and cast off look the same with the same tension I don't think I will ever look back and if my grandmother God love her were still alive and able to knit I would teach this to her I know she would love it!
