If I am stuck for a border color. I go to the home improvement store and pick up a few free paint chip cards. I choose the colors that are approximately the same colors that I have in mind. I place the chips next to the yarn in the room that the item will be used in. Then I can see what will be a better choice.

I would think it would depend on the color of the room it would go in . Personally, I really think black or dark grey, but navy or even a very dark green would go as well.

The dark blue that you have will be good. Stick to one of the colors you ar using. Black is a dog to work with. And it may be a little much. Use the dark blue.

If you are looking at stained glass effect, I would go with a warm dark gray... maybe a dark gray heather. The colors will still "pop". With all those bright colors, trying to tone them down seems pointless.

I would support the dark navy but have you though about something variegated that would pick up the colors you like best?

That's a good idea. Never thought of that.

Easiest way is to make your squares and lay them out on solid fabric of your color choices in the pattern. You'll be able to actually see what color you like best!

Good Morning!
sounds like a big project! It looks like you have a spectrum of colors: Greens, blues, pinks, 1 orange, no beige though so bone sounds good. Almond, taupe in the lighter shades will work. I have much trouble knitting black and dark colors as I can't see my stitches properly. Happy Knitting!

Gray would be my first choice. Gray is the new beige. Of course I just painted my bathroom a beautiful shade of gray so I may be prejudiced!
