I received my package from Birdwatcher this morning. It was amazing. The theme was butterflies, and it was captured very nicely in Birdwatcers cards. They were both very "spring" like, and after the long winter, would cheer up anyone who received them. The first card makes very good use of a dry embossed piece of card stock. Birdwatcher glue small pieces of paper to the card stock .... Creating a design. What a wonderful way to use up small pieces of paper from your paper stash! The butterfly is one of my all time favourite die cuts. The inside of the card is adorned with more butterflies. Great job. The second card also has a dry embossed piece...this time ...vellum. A circle is cut out of the centre, with a circle flower die cut placed in the opening. There is a pretty butterfly cut out fluttering over top. Also a very nice card. The embellishments are a nice assortment, including some of the die cuts Birdwatcher used in her cards. Thank you Birdwatcher for this wonderful swap.

Thank you Sonbon20 -- I am glad you liked my swap. Hope you can use those embellishments. I colored the little flowers in the circles with alcohol markers -- or watercolor pens would work as well.

Oh boy those are cute cards, beautiful!! I like the second card but I think the first is my favorite. I love what you did with the embossed background, I have to go through my embossing folders and see if I have something likewise so I can borrow your idea with the patterned paper.
Did you emboss paper first and then cut out the butterfly?
Great embellishments, you will have lots of fun using these on cards.
Great swap!

Anneke -- I can send you some embossed card stock with those little blocks on -- just tell me what color paper you would like. And when you ask about embossing the butterfly -- I'm assuming you meant the vellum one? It's a die cut butterfly so I cut it first and then embossed. I used a zig zag polka dotted embossing folder and just put the vellum butterfly in and the pattern made itself. It was also used on the blue card -- look at the orange butterfly. I find if you put it through embossing first and cut second, the impressions flatten. So I always cut first and then impress. The little patterned pieces are from the cardstock I gave a piece to Sonbon20 -- it's he little roses and outline of leaves on a cream background -- Anna Griffin patterned paper.

Well I don't like any of your Cards this time. I LOVE them.
Card 1 is spectacular. The background and the butterfly are a perfect match. If I would change anything, it would be the address you sent the Card to. Just beautiful. I almost know, where the Prize package is going next month.
The second Card is pretty neat too. Love your center with all those flowers. A real neat SWAP and quite a selection of Embellishments. Last Months Winner sure got a great package.

Thank you for the tip Carol, cut first then emboss the die cut.
I might going to ask you for a few of those embossed sheets. I will email you when I want some. Thanks for the offer 😊

I'm sitting here laughing at Elfie and her delight in looking at Birdwatchers cards--she's very excited about them. And I can see why. Those cards are wonderful and I have trouble trying to choose one. Your technique is surely praise worthy. As I've said before I wish we all lived close enough to have get togethers and teach each other. We have so much talent in our group.

I am flabbergasted!!! Both of those cards are absolutely stunning and so are the embellishments! Love the little butterfly corner bookmark and the watering cans. I can't pick a favorite card - both are first choices - it's a tie, for sure! I can't read the top half of the saying in the second card, could you help me with that? Seems like voting this time is really going to be hard!!!! All the cards posted so far are gorgeous! Good job birdwatcher! And congratulations to Sonbon for being on the receiving end of all of these goodies!

Beautiful cards.I especially like number one.
I cannot suggest any changes. The way i see it
the cards have gone under very careful scrutiny
before they are posted, therefore all forseeable
changes have been made.
