Desingaknit 8 tells me I'm knitting in the wrong direction!

My row count matches the software. My carriage is on the same side as the software image. What am I doing wrong? I'm frequently having to manually adjust the row count and restart. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

The message appears if the carriage doesn't go past the point cams.
The point cams should be positioned at each side of the knitting.
Designaknit keeps a count of the rows by passing the point cams each time.
Hope this helps.

I thinkmVal is probably right, but another thing to check is that when you select your machine, make sure you have the carriage starting on the correct size, there is a box to check if you want it to start from the right side.

Thank you, thank you! I'll try knitting with bigger "swipes". I'll also double check the check box. I appreciate the help. This is my first project and I was so frustrated!

It doesn't have to be your first project to get frustrated. ANY project has potential to frustrate on the right day. It is all part of machine knitting and we commiserate with each other about.....lol

Ha! I guess I'll just need to grow my tolerance for frustration then! Thanks again for the help!

I recognised the problem you were getting as I often got it when I first started to use Designaknit.
Designaknit has quite a steep learning curve.
I found that this error occurred more when I was knitting too fast.
Best wishes
Val
