I just saw a post on Facebook a bout Hobby Lobby closing. This is not true.
It is recirculating from a few years ago.

Just an FYI. 😊

For many of us, Hobby Lobby closing is wishful thinking.

Better not close! In fact, the largest Hobby Lobby in the world is already being built in Sioux Falls, SD! Can't wait for it to open. Probably be next year. Many businesses are already planning to move to be near them. Bring it on! I'm ready! And waiting!

I taught knitting, crocheting, tatting and embroidery at Hobby Lobby when I lived in TX. Great store.

I can understand that. They probably need the increased income to pay the fines for their recent illegal activities.

Hobby Lobby will never get any of my hard-earned money.

The closest Hobby Lobby to where I live also has the above sign on the door. I refuse to shop at any store that believes it has the right to search my personal property, or my car, if I choose to go into the store. I can understand having security, even security cameras, to prevent shoplifting. But if there is no indication of shoplifting, they should not have the right to search me, my possessions, or my car.

That small notice is just an inkling of a belated 1984!! Sheesh!
You couldn't pay me enough to cross their threshold!!

For the benefit of those unwilling to click on links, here's the very offensive notice:

Odd, the hobby lobby where we lived in Norht Carolina didn't post a sign like this. And I,agree if I saw it I wouldn't shop there. Of course I went in only once and since the merchandise is so expensive and not the best quality for the price, that is the only time I ever went into a hobby lobby.

I have no such signs in NJ. That store must have a lot of theft.

Not that it makes it any better, but the link - https://consumerist.com/2010/08/16/this-hobby-lobby-reserves-the-right-to-search-your-car/ - to an old article.

This Hobby Lobby Reserves The Right To Search Your Car
By cwalters August 16, 2010 — Updated: May 3, 2013

I went in the local HL once when it opened and the amount of 'junk' that they have is astounding. They are not a craft store, they are a 'decor' store for people who can't resist buying just because it's on sale. Joann's is barely better. I'm definitely not a yarn snob, but both of them carry the worst line of yarns possible. If you knit primarily for charities or children, it may be OK, but you can't find a suitable yarn for a 'nice' gift. Agreed, that may just be the stores here, but I'll take my chances with online shopping or the LYS if I really want to touch and sniff. JMO!

I went to that Hobby Lobby store the first week they opened. I was curious about it, but when I saw that sign, I turned around and left without setting foot into the store.

No sign in our store here. And they do have a myriad of craft supplies etc. Politics and religion aside, I go where I can find what I need, being rural and 125 miles from the next city makes choices different. I like their cotton yarns and I rarely need to buy really expensive items.
When I feel personally offended or tromped I chose whether to shop or not. It is a store that doesn't hide their convictions so I keep wondering why people get upset when they go there.
Oh well, each to their own.

Too bad-I had hoped they would close. Just another indecent corporation hiding behind religion.
