2017-07-17 A Jumper For Our Friend.
I offered to make a jumper for one of friends last year and with life getting in the way it never got done. Worse still is that we haven't been down to the city (Adelaide) since visiting her last time either which we'll have to do after our weekend away in August.
I've made a few jumpers based on this pattern in the past and this one with just changing the yarn and adjusting the row/stitch count to suit the tension square.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mens-drop-shoulder-sweaterMade with a cheap 8 ply variegated acrylic yarn at a cost of $AUD2 per 100 gram ball and used less than 7 balls of yarn all told. I first bought this yarn about 4 years ago but never used it though I did try it out and found I could get the right tension so I left it. A few weeks ago I bought some yarn wax with this project in mind and it worked through the LK150 ok at 5 on the carriage and 5 on the mast.
It was decided the neck band would look better if it was folded over and sewn in place which I finished doing this morning. The neck band, shoulder and sleeves are all joined together on the LK150 with only the side and sleeve seams done with blind stitch.

Very nice, I think I have some of that yarn (or similar) at the bottom of my stash, must dig it out and see how much I have ☺
Lovely vibrant colours - they won't be able to miss that one in a crowd....great work.

Beautiful Work Alan I have some Red Heart Mexicana I bought years ago in USA
worsted Weight as bright as this might use it up on KX350 similar to the LK150 - thanks for sharing.
Where can I find the pattern for the legwarmers you made recently need to get some done.

It's sort of a cross between gift and payment for services to be rendered.
Our friend Rosslyn is heavily into model railways and over time has also become skilled at doing soldering various things to do with the models and layout..
I've asked her to do some solder work on my trailer as I couldn't solder if my life depended on it. I have put a solar panel my bike's cargo tailer and only need the wiring to be done.
Those colors make for a happy sweater! Great job on the finishing!
Very nice job. Your patience shows with reforming 1x1 rib (I generally do 2x1 so kudos to you). And you did a perfect job (no split stitches) on attaching sleeve to body. Fun yarn choice too.
Sure to be well received and appreciated.
