I knitted this poncho with Super Saver yarn and #9 needles. I just started with 40 stitches and increased 8 stitches every other row, spacing the increases to every 4th and every 6th row after 10 and 20 inches from the beginning. No pattern, my own designing as I knitted along. I am happy with the way it turned up and hope to wear it a lot during the winter.

Good looking poncho. You look terrific in that lovely red color. The Zipper closure gives it a professional touch.
Enjoy wearing it.

Is it top down? How did you get the neck opening? I love ponchos but want to have the neck opening more like yours. Looking at it makes me wonder if it is knitted in panels and sewed together? I really like it and would love to make it myself.

Very, very nice. You did an excellent job----and a much better pattern than some of the designers come up with!!!!!
