I was almost done with knitting Christmas gifts when I heard that one of my new step-grandchildren would like a tiny lime green scarf for his Beanie Baby Kiwi. Found a sport weight lime green yarn in the stash so I know what my evening project will be tonight! What unusual requests have you received ?

One of my friends asked me to make a pair of fingerless gloves...with the same yarn I made her a hat two years ago. And the same color too. I have no idea what yarn I used, only that it I should be a turquoise color. I am going through my stash trying to see if I have some more of the yarn requested.

my grandaughter, in her twenties, wants me to make her an Orca. It is under way.

My niece wanted a tea cosy. Nothing unusual in that except that she has a small teapot so I had to guess the size with only my favourite ginger jar to do the modelling! Fortunately it fitted OK.

I always make notes in my knitting journal with the yarn info and the patterns used. That way I have the info about what I have made and so if repairs are needed I have the info to help do that. I have found that I need to do this for every project. I have been trying to find the patterns for a hat that I have nearly finished for myself. It is a beret with a seven pointed star on the top... We all live and learn!

My hubby keeps mentioning "cousin it" from the Addams Family, if I have enough of my eyelash yarn left after finishing my Teddy bears I will attempt to make him a cousin it....I've been looking through pics to try and figure out how to make one lol

Don’t suppose you were lucky enough to put the project on Ravelry? I cannot sing its praises enough. Everything in one place, much like the notebook mentioned above.

That's such a great idea...I have just started to record the odd project on Ravelry, I must start to remember to add all the yarn details etc

Isn't great that you had some lime green yarn in your stash. You should have that scarf done before you retire tonight.

Maybe this yarn costume will spark an idea or two:

My 3 yr old great granddaughter asked me to make more ponies for her farm, she picked out the yarn - pink and purple. Of course I couldn't stop there as I get caught up in amigurumi I keep going so I made a skunk and a fix as well.

That is an unusual request. But easy enough to complete it sounds like. No last minute requests at this time.

I was asked about 2 weeks ago to make about 30 small hats for a variety of stuffed toys that our 7 yr old GD has. Her other grandfather sends her 2 or 3 at a time.

My 7 year old granddaughter announced that when she comes over next she wants me to help her make a sari. I have no idea where she got that idea from but I have news for her and it’s not good!!

Hey, buy a fancy tablecloth, wrap it round and round, fasten with bling and for a 7-year-old, I’d guess that would be awesome!
