Border for log cabin blanket - suggestions?

If it’s all garter stitch, it won’t curl, so you can do without a border, unless you want it for aesthetic reasons.

You could pick up stitches on each edge and knit 4 or more rows then bind off. One or two rows of sc would also work well.
These are Log Cabin patterns that I haven't seen before and they are intriguing!

I have made 3 of that exact pattern and the best edging that I used, by far, was the knitted on I-cord. Great finish, I wish I had done the first 2 like that instead of the crochet edge. But, that said, the crochet edge, one single crochet row of each color in the blanket, was very nice.
