With the yoke. Usually patterns with yokes will say for example: *K7 k2tog. Rep from * to last 7 sts, K7. Thus the next dec. row would be K6 etc, this one simply said decreasing 20 sts evenly across row. It was a free pattern so I can't really complain.

No, Mary, it was knitted the other way.

I hate it when patterns are written like that. Free or paid for isn't the issue, poorly written instructions make me doubt the ability of the designer.

Thanks Christine, I'm sending it by Express mail to Albury, to my son who is spending a week with his sister before returning to Beloit, it's for friends of his who have just had a boy.
