I was trying to describe the rugs I made for my daughters bedroom to a member.
I thought why not just go ahead and post them to share with others who may want an idea to use up scrap yarn.
I made Pom pons in several different sizes and several types of yarns. I used one of those foam, under rug pads. They are meant to be placed under a rug to keep the rug from sliding, but I thought it would make sense for the rug base. I simply tied the Pom pons to the rug backing. I laid them out to space out the colors and sizes and tied away!
These were made for my 15 year old daughters room, but I think one would make a great bath mat as well. I did use mainly cotton yarns with a few washable wools mixed in.
She says stepping into her rug feels LIKE HEAVEN on her bare feet. Hey, making a teen girl happy is NOT easy!
She has a Day bed with a trundle for her friends that sleep over.... ALL THE TIME!😁
This is the underside of the rug. You can see the poms are just tied on. If one or a few get dirty, I can cut and replace with new poms.
I made another for the side of her Queen bed.
Oh wow I love love love....it would make a great stash buster.
I may start making a few pom poms here and there until I have enough made
I bet that is just wonderful to walk on. I imagine it would be sooooooo soft and squishy.
This is a good idea. Thank you for sharing it and the photos.
That looks fab may have found something to make for the cat and dog shelter for the puppies and kittens
Would be squishy soft to walk on and very pretty. Great idea.
You are so clever! I love it, it looks so soft.
Your idea would also work well as a colorful footstool cover.
Great idea, looks lovely, too. I like the idea of being able to untie individual pompoms.
What a cute and smart idea.
very cool! I just might try this for my granddaughter!
What a great idea! Love those colors.
Thanks for the compliments. She loves it, which made me happy.
