It is formerly names. Apache Tears and is a very old pattern. My mother had it in her patterns. This is now called the Narrow strip afghan . You can very the pattern in many ways and it is not difficult. However you really have to watch the count.
This is one of my favourite 'big gifts' (weddings etc.).
I am also attaching one of the 3 others I have made over the years. They wear like iron. The older one has triple crochet bars and only 6 stitches between the bars on each row.
The new one is dc bars with 7 stitches between. They look entirely different.
I hope you like them. You can find the pattern by search Narrow step afghan, or if you want it heavier with more bars together search the wide step afghan. I hope you like the one I am doing in lighter colours.
dc bars, 7 stitches between bars WIP
bars triple crochet, spaces only a few stitches.
first one I made, years ago.
They are absolutely gorgeous. Love the colours.

Beautiful, colors are fantastic. Love the patterns too. Please keep us up on your progress... 😀
I just added a third picture. I did this one ages ago and it is still on our bed (keeps my feet warm), we use it in the living room if we are watching tv, or for naps. It is about 20 years old. Thanks for the kind words.
Very beautiful, love your use of colours
