This is so very pretty. I have often wondered how a knit fabric with a backing launders. Do you know if any that you have made have withstood being laundered, without any twisting or misshaping of the knit? I have a couple right now that I would love to back to cover my work. But I have always held back because I wasn’t sure how they would survive. I see that you also”tied” the places where the corners of the blocks come together, so I know that will stabilize it some. Your patterned squares seem to be very well done and make this blanket so special for a little one. Great work!

As far as I am aware no one has washed one yet, this is the 2nd time that I backed a blanket. I just hope it stays in place OK and that by stitching each of the corners will help to stabilise it. It looks better when the corners are stitched than just sewing around the edge. This time round I placed the cotton fabric down then placed the knitted blanket on top and pinned each of the corners before pinning the sides, I found this was so much easier to attach the cotton backing to the blanket.

hope this is of help to you.

Yes, it gives me a good plan for getting the two pieces set up for fastening. Thanks.
