I had this gorgeous (mostly) cotton yarn from Wool in the Woods, and looking at pictures of the Cancun Boxy Top made me think that something loose and comfy for summer would be nice. I had 800 yards, and used almost all of it.
The original pattern was obviously designed for a young woman. My days of baring my midriff are long past. This is two pieces, each 24" square. The underarm seam is 9 inches up from the bottom edge; the shoulder seams are about 6 inches in from the outside edge. Because the yarn is cotton, it hangs very nicely. The neckline may look like there is shaping, but I assure you there is none. I started out with a garter stitch border, then worked alternating bands of English Mesh (the name of it at Knitting Fool; Mountford's edition of the Harmony Guide to Knitting calls it Feather stitch, and it is my go-to when I need a basic lace pattern) and knitted mesh, each separated by 4 rows of garter stitch.
I've worn it once already. It's very comfortable. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
