Why Would You Ever Want to Pay For Knitting and Crochet Patterns or Lessons When You Can Get All That for Free?
Read this:

If you are a beginner, intermediate, advanced, or a professional knitter, then the benefits of signing up for our free weekly knitting e-mail newsletter are:

• We cover hand knitting, machine knitting, and crochet.

• Each week you'll be receiving new tips and techniques.

• Daily, you'll be receiving a knitting message board digest with the latest knitting pictures, discussions and patterns.

• If you ever have a question or need help, you can always ask, and we'll cover your question in the following newsletter issue.

• Discover the fastest way to knit (and to crochet) a sock... while keeping the perfect heel and making sure the sock fits (not many knitters know this).

• Find out how to figure out how much yarn you need for a pattern if the pattern doesn't specify it (works for any project, a real life-saver sometimes).

• Learn how to pick up a dropped stitch, even from several rows below. It happens to absolutely everyone at some point. But don't worry, there exists a really simple fix.

• And if you ever run out of yarn, find out how to join any yarn in the middle of any project.

• If you can't find the pattern that you need, or if you don't know which pattern would be most appropriate for a specific project, then you can ask our other users to help you figure it out. We even have a dedicated "Pattern Requests" section on our website that's all about finding new patterns.

• The same goes for any problems and questions about specific techniques. We have experienced users who are always helping those in need with just the right advice.

• And of course, as I said it's all completely FREE!

• Let me repeat that. Since for some reason a lot of people contact us asking if the membership is really free: we are a social website for knitters and crocheters, so we don't sell anything, and we don't charge any fees. It's as simple as that.

Enter your name and e-mail address below, and you'll be instantly added to our knitting mailing list distribution. Right away, you'll get access to more knitting-related material (pictures, patterns, tips) than contained in all knitting books and magazines you could ever buy. And you'll get all that for free.

You'll be able to talk and share ideas with more knitters than you could meet if you attended all the largest trade shows. And you'll be able to do all that without leaving your house!

Don't delay! Join the best knitting and crochet community on the Internet.

I am soooo excited!

My friend from this forum, Rebecca, just emailed me a website and pattern that has yarn just like the Australian Lincraft Elicia yarn (the subject surfaced in another thread)!!

http://www.universalyarn.com/quality_color.php?quality=265

And if you youtube How to Knit Elicia Yarn, you will see exactly how to knit this Universal Yarns Marina yarn. It's identical. Easy patterns right on the yarn page.

Rebecca and I are ecstatic! I ordered two balls to start, and one I will knit for Rebecca to thank her for the lovely yarn she gave me when we met in person, and also to thank her for this FIND!!!! Wow! Can't wait until it comes!!!!!!!

OMG!

Oh my, that yarn is spectacular! I shall get some (had an 8th grade English teacher explain that "shall" is more emphatic than "will", so I shall). The problem is which color to select which means several so I can decide the disposition of them later. Thanks for sharing the yarn and the link.

Your were so right. That's exactly what I did. That is really interesting yarn. Lion Brand has a ruffle yarn that the Universal yarn reminds me of, and I've seen another ruffle type yarn at the yarn shop, but this is a whole new level. I think Universal has done something really different.

Rozzetti also makes "flounce" which is another ruffle yarn.

Claire, I passed along the link to my sister-in-law and her reaction was the same as mine. She located a yarn shop close to where she lives that is supposed to stock the yarn. It was too late for her to go today but she's headed there tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be yarn shop day for me too; I am hoping they have it. If not, I'm sure I'll find something interesting.

Mmmm, lovely! I wish I could just TOUCH yarn. I have to order online because I live in a very rural area, with no yarn shop or craft store nearby - especially since I work full time.

I have been lusting for this type of yarn for a long time, can't wait to get it! Let me know if you get it!

Elicia yarn -
I was fortunate to have a fellow knitter (purseanna) from KP e-mail me the info on Sunday to let me know about Universal yarn. I would like to put in my two cents and say that while the YouTube video is good, the video put out by Elicia Yarn is much much better. Better view of exactly what to do!!

Yes, I just received the Rozetti Marina yarn,a nd am in the middle of my first gorgeous scarf (just like the Elicia yarn).

I bought a LOT of this yarn in all colors - they are selling out fast. All over. There are several sites that sell it.

It knits very quickly, and is very beautiful. A bit clumsy to do at first, but a little practice and it's good.

I cant' do a pic of mine since I want to give the first one to Rebecca, my KP friend, and I don't want her to see it before she gets it in the mail (probably early next week). She is the one who found the Universal Yarn site with similar yarn to Elicia, and I was tickled to pieces! It is so funky, and you know me with funky! :)
