ninabeanbag has put up her pictures of her wedding dolls and they are gorgeous. I used to make a lot of the Jane Greenhowe pattern dolls but my arthritis gets in the way now. Has anyone tried to make them on a machine please. I did try but got lost on how to to all the increases as you nornally only increase a couple at a time from the ends but somethimes they have to add a lot of stitches when creating a body and I couldn't figure it out. Any advice please?
Wow!! Another great site for machine knitters too. Where do you wonderful ladies find sites? I can google all day and get nowhere, lol. I just managed to buy a book of machine knit teddies and toyson ebay uk. I asked the lady nicely if she would post it if I won as Im in Oz. Can't wait to see it.
I have been machine knitting for about 3 years. I also join yahoo groups which have lots of information & helpful members.
We call these trauma teddies. Fire brigades and SES give them to children as well as hospitals. They have been doing it for many years.
Thanks for this site, it's great.
When it comes to decreases in the middle of the rows, I take the work off on waste yarn then decrease the stitches when putting them back on the needles. Takes a bit of time, but worth it.
Machine knitting new did some books on toys and they are brilliant I have made quite a few patterns from them have a look on ebay you sometimes find them on there
