I found the chart for this pattern and downloaded it (it was free) from Spin-Off magazine. It says you can see the written instructions in the summer 2008 issue of Spin-Off to get the number of repeats, CO, etc. I have hunted and hunted for the written instructions but with no luck. Is there anyone who has them and can share? I can't even find an old issue of the mag--just a 4-part CD on spinning. Thanks.
Can you post where you found the chart? Perhaps someone can get you started if we can see how it's charted.
That video is what that go me into this whole thing. I made a scarf to see if I really wanted to do more and then found a shawl but it is made like a scarf and I wanted a triangle so I goodled and found the chart. I may have the pattern coming. Thanks to all for your help. As many others have said, this site is the very best.
Old Shale and Feather and Fan are the same I believe, maybe if you looked for a free feather and fan triangle shawl it would solve your problem.
If you go to the youtube video, this woman found that there is a difference in the two. I was "surfing" one night and found it. It's an interesting story.
Ezzie-You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry for $8.95. Google/Yahoo search Old Shale Lace Triangle Shawl and click on the second Ravelry listing.
When you made your scarf how many did you c/o to begin with. ? She uses 20 which seems a little bit thin and if you double that it seems too wide or is it just me" does anyone kno what width they should be? and what size needle to use.?
just checked the Interweave Press web site. The summer 2008 issue of Spin Off is available in digital format for download for $9.99 from them.
I used "I Love This Yarn" Stripes; CO 40 with US 8's. I knit 2 stitches beg/end and just did 2 pattern repeats (36 sts). I had made a slouch hat from this and thought I'd make the scarf to match. Here's a picture of the scarf.
