i have noticed from my knitting book for the singer 360 that the patterns go up to 40". what happens if you are larger than 40 inches. can use still use the knt leader? i have had a knitting machine before but it was a brothers with no knit leader so i have never used one.

Do you have the gents patterns? If you do you can use them, just check the length of the body and sleeves. Pencil in a new starting line if the body is too long. If the sleeve is too long go partway up the sleeve and pencil in a line, leave a gap half the amount that you need the sleeve to be shorter and do a second line. When you are knitting the sleeve and reach the first of the two lines wind up to the second and then carry on knitting. The amount of stitches will probably have increased, add these slowly until you are back on track.
I have said to do only half the measurement that you need to reduce the sleeve length because these patterns are all drawn half the width/length of the finished garment, you must therefore draw the the start line on the main part of the garment half the length you require it to be shorter.

With the Singer/Knitmaster machines the patterning device is called a knit radar. The patterns already drawn for use are all knitted from the rib up and as they are only small in width you would not be able to do any garment sideways using the Radar.
