Thanks for that.....I tried lace knitting on the weekend, and could not get it right, even a simple feather and fan pattern beat me. I see so many beautiful shawls on here that I wanted to try one. I purchased some Moda Vera "fern" yarn in a lovely colour, especially for that purpose. I might try the simple fish bone pattern to get me started.

don't let it get you down. I had finished a feather and fan shawl (yes, I frogged so much that I could have made four of them) last year. This year I can't feather and fan for the life of me! So I am going to give this pattern a shot. Hey - he does give a nice wide area of plane old knitting to frog back to! To me that makes built in life lines!!!
