Hello from Alabama. When you suggest a microwaveable wheat bag is it raw wheat seeds in a cotton bag? I use a rice bag, but it doesn't stay warm very long. I've had neck surgery in the past. Thank you.
I will be 66 on January 5. A retired teacher with three grandchildren. Learned to crochet and knit to have something to do. I knitted for the kids who are now in Southern California. Knits not needed now. Nothing wrong with us men knitting. Very handy.
Does anyone know how to finish off the headband portion of the 1898 hat if I just want to use the band as ear covers? Thanks
The shawl I made was triangular, but the heart shaped looks like it would more easily wrap around as long as it has enough coverage down the back.
Hello from Alabama. The shawl is "Highland Travel Shawl". I would like to visit Scotland some day. We were in Ireland about seven years ago. By any chance according to your name here on KP is it Henderson. That is my husband's name. If so, small world.
Thank you all for the quick response. I am a male knitter-small in size, but no, the shawl would not be for me. Lol. The pattern is "Highland Travel Shawl". I did not check gauge or block it. My big mistake. I haven"t been knitting very long. Learn the hard way. Does anyone know anything about the "When in Scotland" shawl? It is similar. Still, I wonder if I still need to adjust anything in order for it to "wrap" slightly around the waist. Thanks again.
I made this shawl last year-turned out too small even though I used the exact yarn as per pattern. How do you make this so that it will wrap around as it did in the TV series? Thanks
I made one for my three year old grandson and it fit. I plan to make another for him since my daughter said he really likes it.
Try Staci Perry at very pink knits online. She has great videos and explanations. And patterns.
Cross stitch question: when you say back stitch with one strand if you are actually stitching with two strands, do you mean to separate the two strands on the back and run them through seperately? Thanks.
I'm thinking of mittens for my three grand children, four years, five, and eight. Do you have a good go to easy pattern? Thanks.
How can I make this scarf wider and get the same look and fit? Thank you.
There used to be a magazine called Knit 123 and one called Crochet 123. Very good and achievable patterns. They no longer are in print. Too bad. I saved several.
Probably, but it would be Papa.
This is a photo of my three-year-old grandson in his new hat. I used Paton's wool and the adult size pattern. It fit pretty good.
