Occupation: Soap-maker, home-maker Interests: knitting & crochet, soap-making, reading, sewing, fabric dying (especially tie-dye and shibori)... and so much more! Biography: Born in 1963, should have been just a few years earlier, cuz I'm a bit of a hippy at heart (including my love of patchouli oil!) :)
Married almost 25 years, with 2 young-adult children - daughter, a nurse, got married this past summer and son, college-student, is just getting ready to move out, so we'll be new empty-nesters soon.
I make cold-process soaps - I love soap-making (except for the big mess it makes, and the clean-up that goes along with it!) There are so many fun new creative techniques in soap-making, that it has become a true art-form! Beautiful colors and swirls, along with amazing scents, are my favorite aspects of it.
In the past I taught piano, and have been a musician most of my life. Favorite instrument is blues-harp (harmonica), followed by percussion of all kinds (but especially bongos, congas & djembe), piano, banjo, bowed psaltery.
Besides our kids, my husband and I are owned by 1 beautiful siamese-cross cat and 1 sweet-but-barky cockapoo. Website: http://grannyssoapshack.com
