    crochet beach bag

Oh gosh... To all my Panera friends.. thanks so much for all your kind words. You make me feel special.
The bag is crocheted using twine from Lowes. I used about 8 balls( 86 cents each, there are only 6 colors available)( can buy the twine on line also)
Used a F hook, any larger and I was concerned things may slip through the opening)
Started at the bottom with an OVAL shape. Chain 35 sts and work in rounds until the bottom is the size you want. You will have to do inc at each end to keep it flat. SOme rows I added 3 sts on each end, others 5-7. Just work with it.
When the bottom is what you want. continue working in rounds up the bag.
Changing colors is easy, a simple knot and weave the ends in later.
The straps ( I changed from the original picture) are 5 sts wide and 24" long. And then I sewed them into place on the last row placing them as for a shoulder purse.

I also crocheted an inside pocket for cell phone (sewed it in) added a clip for keys. And crocheted a strap inside to keep a water bottle standing upright.

It was fun to do. You can frog the twine if needed. When sewing, try to pass the needle between stitches, not through the twine itself..

My "fancy" bead work lol is pony beads, frog/turtle/butterfly. I got free patterns off the internet.

I am overwhelmed with all the attention and kind words. Again many thanks, Linda

    three square afghan

Glad everyone likes it! I have been doing this pattern for years so its by memory now. Start with 3 colors. Each "block" is 9 stitches so for however wide you want the blanket, count in 9 to get your foundation (and always make it an uneven number of "blocks) eg: 19 blocks(makes it about 5' long) 19x9=171 stitches then add 4 =175 sc for the foundation row.
Row 1-2:Sc, switch to next color Row 3: sc 2 stitches,* front post double crochet(look it up), sc, until you have 5 posts, sc 9, then repeat post pattern(5 posts, 4 sc=9)(9sc), 2 sc (there is 2 sc at each end) Row 4: sc, switch to next color
Repeat row 3-4 until you have 7 rows of posts
Then switch the pattern to: Row 1: sc 11 stitches, then start pattern Row 4: sc, switch to next c
So you will have your "blocks" of (5 posts & 4sc) and (9sc) with 2 sc at each end.
Im not a pattern writer :) i hope its not too confusing. Please post if you have any questions!

    Daisy

    Daisy: (White and Orange)
    With Orange
Start with Magic Loop Ch 1
    R1: 6 sc
R2: 2 sc in each st, 12 sts
R3 : change to white yarn for petals part , *ch 6, 2 hdc into 2nd ch from hook, 3 hdc in next 3 st, sc in last st, sl into next st (on orange) from 1st chain* ( *repeat 12 times* )

Again, I don't claim this pattern, though it is an adaption of this daisy:

This flower was too large and I just adapted it for my use.

    Must look for these.

Red Heart "Unforgettable" and Lion Brand "Amazing" come to mind for those who like the longer color runs, and there are others, I'm sure. I'm not very exclusive when it comes to yarn fibers :~D.

    loop stitch

The loops are really easy to do. They are done in single crochets.
All you do is: Insert hook in next single, wrap yarn around left index finger three times, (clock wise)
hook all three loops and pull through, yarn over pull through all loops on hook.
