My First Knit Project: infinity cowl, rug or armor
This is my first knitting project, I really had fun with this bulky yarn. It was originally supposed to be an infinity cowl, but the more I worked on it the more I realized it might be too bulky to wear around your neck. It's 36" long and I'm using 20 mm, US 36 needles. I thought maybe it could be used as a bath rug, what do you all think? Plate of of armor?

Crocheted doily in pumpkin colour and a matching vase of Peace roses
The pattern is the same as the previous purple doily I supersized by using 8 ply cotton from Spotlight. My eldest grand daughter requested the Pumpkin colour to have for posterity, when I am in heaven...she" will always remember me making this for her over a very long time" Ok...I can understand that too! It goes well with the newest picked long stem Peace roses from our garden And now I will have a rest from making these huge Ripe Wheat doilies for a long time too.

The bush with all the different colours the day before I picked about 20 of them

A box full of them waiting to go in a vase

Red yellow and pink in the first day of a single rose.

They are actually a salmon/orange colour flower at the moment...

Top down hats... to:Janallybob
Several weeks ago one of our KP'rs (Janallybob) posted a query about knitting hats from the top down. I think it's a great idea. I considered sending her a PM but I think many would be interested in this subject so i will start a new post. I am very interested in hearing about anyone's ideas, experiences. BTW Jan.. have you done any yet?

Tirzah's Memory Doll
It's been a sad day today. Today would have been our daughter's 56 birthday. I know I should rejoice that she is no longer suffering. I am thankful for that but I sure do miss her! So I decided today I would make a Memory Doll to honor Tirzah.
Thank you for looking.

poll on HATS
Dear crafty friends - I am just curious- do you tend to knit (and like) one of the following hat types:

- simple hats (say with interesting texture)

- cabled hats

- floral design hat

- something super practical and quick?

I've been asked by most of my customers and friends to make simple and practicle hats.. not that many are interested in floral (say leaves) or cabled hats

If i knit for myself - I love cabled hats and something with a cute / interested detail (and feel to ask him how to modify ANY hat to incorporate the opening for ponytail or braid for girls - it's honestly the best idea i had... the hat stays in place while kids are playing outside!)

Bamboo needles and sandpaper
When your bamboo needles lose their slippiness and start getting a bit rough, do you sand and wax them? If yes, what grit of sandpaper are you using?
Looking forward to your answers !
