Knitting a scarf with DK Bamboo but using size 5mm needles instead of 4 as I want the scarf to have more of a drape. When I seam in ends as knitting stripes, any ideas the best way to hide the ends?
I would like to find some type of finish for the top of a hat. I would like to know how to make the top triangular shape. I don't have a hat pattern I just made one with knit in the round. Thanks.
My First Cuddly
As many of you may know I talked with Gypsycream about a small doll that was completely child safe that I could use in my craft shows and she came up with this adorable little doll. Not only is it perfect for shows but also for charity knitting or that quick needed gift for a little one. It's also a great stash buster. I was honored to work with her on this and had so much fun. Beware they are addicting! Hope you enjoy seeing my versions of My First Cuddly by Gypsycream.

Curly mitred squares
I decided to make Bernat's free pattern mitred squares afghan to use up my bits of self striping sock wool (definitely a long term project as in 4ply) but after doing part of one square I am finding it is curling very badly at the 2 turning corners. There are 3 more colours to add to the beginning square but I was wondering if it would be worthwhile blocking it before adding the other colours. What does everyone think? I am hopeful it will uncurl when all the squares are joined but in the meantime the curl is driving me mad. All suggestions welcomed
Thank you all
Circ Needle storage
These are pictures of a circ needle storage hanger. The pattern was in an old Interweave knitting mag. I don't know if I still have it. I used Knit Picks id tags to label the slots for various needle sizes. I like the idea of spools though because the they would be easier to slip the needles into and the size label shows up better. Have to think about how to incorporate them. I've made two of these knitted ones. The first one I made out of yarn from my stash and it was too droopy, didn't hang well. This one I knit out of hemp kitchen twine. It was pretty stiff knitting but is holding it's shape better. I only wash it when it gets dusty & then air dry it because it'a amazing how soft even twine gets with washing.
Socks for fatter legs?
A while ago I asked for advice on knitting socks for fatter legs and received help from several of you, in the end I used ribbing for the leg and front of the foot which worked admirably. Using 80 sts. for the sock, using a normal heel, when I reached the toe I decreased as normal to 48 sts. in the round and then decreased every round until 20 sts for the round were left and then grafted the toe together.
They were received by my grandson with much joy and appreciation. and fit perfectly.
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and help, it was much appreciated.
Happy knitting to you all,
