Good morning chicks. Going to try and get organized with my fabrics and I have a pattern for a "veera Bradley" like handbag. So I think that is what all the girls and grands will get for Christmas. Plus work on both socks. Busy day!!

Well, up this morning (Friday) to find that the furnace came on overnight. The temp got down below 40 F last night. I'm not really ready for winter yet. Guess I'd better get ready, huh?
Ripped out about 10 rows of first slouchy hat. The directions said to knit until it measured 6 inches from bottom of ribbing, then begin decreases. I followed them. When I tried on the hat just before binding off it fit me like a beanie. Now, I have a small head so I know it wouldn't be slouchy on someone else! So I took out all the decrease rows and decided to knit until I had 6 inches BEYOND the top of the ribbing. So that's where I find myself today. What are y'all doing today?

Good Morning CWS! Last (work) day of the month. It will be slow here.

Last night I frogged about half of Mike's sweater. I don't think it was gonna be long enough. He has a long torso. Anyway, I need to add about 2 -3 more inches to that before starting the V on the front. So I"m just plugging along there. I want it to fit. I pulled a sweater he likes to wear and did as Bonnie told me before, I measured that. So I know I did the right thing by making the adjustments. :-)

Other than that, not much happening. I"m almost finished with Karen's stump cover. Should be able to give it to her tomorrow. Just in time for the colder weather.

For a slouch hat you need it wider than a beanie, as well as longer.

Good! As I was reading your post I was getting ready to tell you to lay it on a sweater that fits Mike well, and see that you did that! That method actually works better than trying on the body, because you are using an existing sweater with the right amount of ease already built in, rather than trying to figure that out. It tells you what you need to know.

Not much news here. Luke is in the air today-- flying a plane to Arkansas for his school. I wish I had that exciting a life...

Hope everyone's having a good Friday and gearing up for a nice weekend.

I know. I'm using a slouchy hat pattern so it should work.

Hey chicks, working on the pattern for this handbag for the girls. Sounds like everyone is very busy. I am trying to get my head around this pattern...this is going to be Christmas presents for all girls and Grands. They have all gotten a pair of socks already. I cannot wait to hear from Nina. Hope it is soon. :-D That mouse is cute.....to tiny for me to work on....but adorable.

I will, I sure hope it turns out. It kind of looks like a V. Bradley bag. Maybe not as fancy.. The first one I am going to follow the pattern strictly. Then after that one, I am going to see if I can change the pattern to it alittle nicer and different. I change the tote slightly...I hadded a second zippered pocket on the inside...pockets in bags are like closets in houses...there are never enough!

OSG,
I went to a wedding where the bridesmaids etched the names of the guests on votive candle holders as place markers at the tables at the reception. Maybe that will give you an idea. It was really neat! We still have all of ours!
