Good morning chicks. It is a grey day here on the coast of Va. I can't work on tiny things like that either Val. Drive me up a wall. But Bonnie that will be so cute on your tree. Going to work on my socks today. Have to finish something before I work on a handbag. I just can't have two or three projects going at once. Makes me nuts. :-D Ok chicklets will check in later have to jump in the shower... cannot work until then. Later :-D

That's what I call this thing. I'm sure there is a correct word for it but I don't know. My sister last year, had to have her leg removed from just below the knee. I call it her stump. This is just a long tube sock so she can keep that part of her remaining leg warm.

Thanks, I figured after I wrote my response. My first thought was "Why would anyone want a tree stump covered with a beautiful knitted item unless it was for a yarn bombing!". I'm pretty literal! It's really very attractive and I'm sure warm. Is your sister diabetic? So sorry she had to lose part of her leg. Does she get on OK? Many people do just go on like it's nothing. I was a baby after both my hip replacements. But worked through the therapy until I could walk fine. I'm good now.

It's sunny and dry here, but a chilly 45F. I'll have to dress warmly to go to the alpaca farm. Still excited about it!! We have to be home by 3:30 to see the Ohio State game. It's a RULE!!

Yes, Karen is a diabetic. She has been since she was in her early early twenties. She thought it was a joke and never took care of it. Now she's paying the piper. This horrible disease is in my family in a big way. My Grandmother, my father, my brother and my youngest sister. I get checked regularly.

Anyway, Karen is fine. She is one of those who just takes it in stride and goes on. She's doing well. And she has a great support system.......ME!! Karen is a lot younger than me, my daughter turning 31, her's is 11. I've always tried to care for her even as a child. (thought she was my living baby doll when Mom brought her home from hospital!) LOL Anyway, she's my sister, and I adore her children as you all know.

Good morning everyone!

Val, check out this page of free toy patterns by Jean Greenhowe. Scroll down and see the Squidgy Beanbugs pattern... small beanbag creatures. Also, her Rainbow Babies, last on the page, are simple little dolls you can "dress" by knitting in different colors.
http://www.jeangreenhowe.com/patterns.html

I have picked up the Seascape Stole again, a previously abandoned project. I'm done with everything else so I've resumed this project. I don't normally like mohair, but this yarn (part mohair) feels so nice. It will be warm. I showed it to you when I started it, eons ago, but will show my progress again later when I get a little more knit.

I also need to fix something on my elephant and then I'll show him to you all, too.

Have a wonderful day!

Just got back from the alpaca farm. Had fun! So did hubby! Found some WONDERFUL yarn for a sweater for hubby. To get enough to make him a sweater (2X). Cost $235! I did get it. It's gorgeous and feels so nice, He'll never be cold!!
