Hi, I popped in earlier today but only had time to read... not reply. Nothing new to report except that Luke is being transfered to AZ... on Sunday. We are hoping he gets a week at home before he's deployed overseas.

I'll post a pic soon of my blanket progress. It's big and hot to work under now, but I'm usually cold in the house A/C so it comes in handy. I love crocheting on it. It's pretty big... six rows of dc uses up an entire ball of yarn... something like 115 yards. I'm going to get more yarn tomorrow! I bought it on the cheap at Tuesdays, but still the yarn cost for this afghan will go over $100 before it's all said and done. If I realized that up front I probably wouldn't have started it. I love the yarn: 100% Superwash wool from Ella Rae. It's so substantial yet feels good in your hand. I know it's going to hold up. I'll try to show you tomorrow...

Looking forward to seeing your creation! I was using an odd ball of the green snuggly to do this litte cardigan only to have to buy another to finish it. It's always the way!

I am here, saw last night that nobody had been around, had nothing to say other than that here on Tuesday we had the warmest day for nearly 7 years, 28.9 degrees at one stage, much too hot for us in Scotland unaccustomed to high temperatures.

LOL isn't it funny what we consider hot or cold 28 here is a lovely summers day wouldn't even put the ac on. Yet we freeze on a 5 degree morning and in Scotland it gets much colder

When we first moved up here in 2006, there was a heat wave round about 25 for a few weeks and we have not had a good summer since then.Did you get the emails I sent you with the photo to send on to OSG ?

Good Morning guys..
So here I am back in Fla waiting for baby to arrive.. Poor Mel she is exhausted.. going to work everyday and doing everything else.. She is big and round and is having a hard time getting up and down in a chair (remember that?)

Gonna try to get some of the things in this house in order. Mel has OCD so her house is in great shape and she made the baby's room beautiful.. Once he's in there I'll post pix on Facebook... and you'll all see..

25 28 degrees.. wow.. wouldn't I love some of that!!

In Vegas it was almost 49 for a couple of days.. the day before I left it was 35 and I said, wow it really got cooler, this I could live with!!! lol... I probably would wear a sweater in 28... I guess everything is relevant!!!

That's gonna be some afghan..can't wait to see it.

Check in later.
Adios for now!

Hi kids...

Thank goodness I was able to get another ball of all but one of the 9 colors of the Ella Rae wool I needed. I substituted for that one, a darker pink! My afghan will make it to the end. It's wide enough to make it across my queen size bed-- probably why it's eating so much yarn! As you can see, I'm alternating the bands of hot colors and cool colors... that's the plan. It feels so great! I'm showing you a picture with flash and also one without. Neither captures the colors perfectly...

While I was out shopping today we had a storm day. Rain was off and on, but it kept the temps cool and low. 73 degrees F in July is just unheard of! I loved it! Tomorrow we will have a nice cool pool to have water aerobics class in!

I get totally LOST trying to translate your celsius temps to farenheit that I understand. LOST! There's no simple formula.

Today is Seth's birthday. Got to talk to him for a while today. He is such a great kid. 25 years old! Where did that time go? I remember bringing him home... :-) His hands were ginormous!

We are going to see if we can get everyone together here before Luke goes overseas, and celebrate Seth's birthday then.

Off to play with yarn...

Bonnie, it's beautiful like usual... about the celsius to fahrenheit there is a simple trick you might want to try next time..

Just Google.... 78 fahrenheit to celsius and google does it for you!!!!

You won't even have to scroll to find it..

Nothing yet!! Her due date is the 20th.. so we still have some time..

Just finishing up a small pair of socks.. then back to my sweater...

Thank you Val, Nina and OSG... Val we had the same temps as you today. It will be hotter tomorrow when it's not raining.

Got a few more rows done on the afghan tonight. It's been a long time since I have done something this big. I'm already thinking about small things to knit for Christmas.

Hi Chicks,

Thank you, Bits! Glad you are feeling perky today.

You gotta love it when you help people on KP with a pattern they are looking for, or a site, or a question.... whatever it is... and then they are no where in sight to say 'yes that worked' or, GOD FORBID, "Thank you!" People are so rude. I like it in here! Our little corner....

Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned. By Friday I am so worn out that I just want to rest at home all weekend. Maybe I'll read a book. A friend sent me Kindle books that are murder mysteries with a quilting theme! Silly but light reading. The mystery is fun to discover. I feel like I'm just wasting gobs of time when I sit around reading a book. How do you get used to it? She said she has one for me that is a murder mystery set at a knitting retreat, next!

Hope all of your households are humming along smoothly... catch y'all later.
