Oh it's all lovely!

I remember those trees... If i were a gingerbread man, I would love to live there....upside down or not!

The wreath turned out very pretty...& reminds me I have to make a flower for a hat...

But first, I must bake a cake and make spaghetti for ds's birthday celebration

My baby is turning 17! Where did time go?

Love the gingerbread house. The one and only time I seriously made one was in our restaurant in ma. We had a gingerbread house contest for the kids. It wasn't easy, the construction was really important otherwise it didn't last. So kudos to u! The wreath is lovely are u going to put it on the front door?

Carpal tunnel is no fun. I have splints to wear when it flares up. Thank god I don't need surgery! I wish him all the best! And speedy recovery to everyone!!!!

Thanks, you are right Nina. If the construction isn't solid it all collapses, I would normally make my own from scratch but this one was a kit the icing is a little softer than the royal icing I would make so we had a bit of trouble with the verhanda collapsing, matt helped us wth that. The kit was called an outback shack( very Australian) so I had to resist the urge to have icicles and snow.....I think I would like to a village of little ones.
not sure where I am going to hang the wreath but it will be inside I already have a big one on the door..

I am pretty sure I have carpel tunnel as my arm and fingers go numb in the night and if I use them too much or lean on them funny, but it is more discomfort than pain.except in tbe early hours when my whole arm shoulder to finger tip hurts.

Gosh Barb... that foot surgery sounds HORRIBLE. I hate to think of anyone going through that.

So Val, your hubby plays jazz? What instrument? How very cooool....

I love the gingerbread shack and wreath, Tracy! I haven't had any luck with gingerbread houses standing, myself. Mine always collapse. Your team effort turned out great!

Happy Birthday to your son, OSG! Time does fly....

Nina, for God's sake, turn up the heat! We have kept a raging fire going all day and night, and I still had to turn on the heat. It's so cold! But then we will probably be back in shorts in two days.

We stuck around home today, tending the fire and moving more firewood up to the house. We went to our local town Christmas parade this morning. Saw Smoky the Bear and Santa and many, many fire engines. Loads of kids threw candy at us-- we came home with a sackful. (This is local culture.) I also got a quilt mostly done today-- the FINAL wedding quilt of the marathon of wedding quilts I have made all year. I didn't get it done in time for the wedding... had to give them an IOU. So I will be glad to get it delivered.

Stay warm, Chicks (and cool, Tracy!)

Good morning, All!

Love the pod ornaments, Tracy. You are so creative....

Wow, what a cake, OSG! You did well! I have never heard of sparkler candles. What fun they must be to present to the birthday boy.

Everyone is quietly reading or studying around the fire... still raining here, still cool. Good time to plug in some music (through headphones) and knit! Later this evening we will be going to a carols service at church. Really looking forward to that!
