Hi Kordy,

I am fairly heavy handed went it comes to needles. I have tried birchwood and most I break those.

Now I am using Addi Needles and am very happy with it.

I think a good first set are Denise interchangeables. They are comfortable, have great joins (never come apart), and the cables are a larger diameter than some of the others, which makes getting the stitches onto the needle part from the cable very seamless. The cost is very reasonable also. I love my Denise needles and choose them more often than my Knit Picks Harmony wood interchangeables. I have Addi clicks on my wish list. Good luck!

Which ones did you miss?
Boye NeedleMaster is still my standby.
Signature NeedleArts are on my never-to-be-fulfilled wishlist.
Denise are wonderful.

Who knows, Jessica-Jean, Santa may bring you those Signatures! :D

See if LYS near you has different ones and maybe they will let you test drive a couple, let's hope.

I normally do not knit on round needles even though I have a set of the Denise interchangeable needles that I have had for years and never used. Recently I had to make a baby bib that required round needles for the part that goes around the baby's neck and I also had to make a headband that required round needles. I got out that case of Denise needles that I purchased so long ago and am really impressed with them. They do not screw into place, but rather you just fit the tip into place and then turn it to lock it. I have had no problem with it becoming loose or coming apart. Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend the Denise Interchangeables.

I have tried many interchangeable needles and they all come loose after a few rounds.

This question is akin to asking for a recommendation for the perfect bra.

J-J, that's the most perfect answer I have ever seen. I love it!!

Early in my knitting days I bought a set of metal (Boyes) circulars, and now I regret it. I much prefer bamboo needles, and I think the metal ones are too slippery, causing the stitches to fall off.

I have a set of the Denise and they are my go-to for quick and simple projects. Never had a problem with them.
