My latest project is an afghan that looks like the one on the back of the couch of the Roseanne TV show. I've always loved that afghan so after learning to crochet over the holidays I started making one in March 2015 on my grandson's birthday. It is tedious work and my biggest yarny project but as I am stuck in my apartment (I am disabled and not able to get out at all) I am enjoying making it and am looking forward to the day when I am finished and can post photographs of it.

Is anyone else working on a large project to pass the time?

I finished the Hue Shift Afghan a few months ago and swore off large projects for a while. I need immediate gratification right now. Good luck with your afghan. I'm sure it will be a beauty!

I just finished two afghans using the granny square but i made each square 16 rows of several different colors, using up my stash of yarn. One fit a single bed and one almost a double. No more little squares for me....lol

Way to go!! I don't have the patience for big items anymore. I finally got a blanket done for my best friend that took almost 20 yrs. to make. It is a mesh background with ruffled rows to cover it, starting on the outer edges and working inward. It took so long because I set it down and didn't pick it back up for several years. Better late than never. She has it on her couch and I'm glad she likes it. That is what counts.

just thinking about making all those little squares and sewing them together makes me not want to do a project like that.

It isn't knitting, but I am doing a three piece tapestry in cross stitch for a SIL. It will take me the better part of a year, maybe more.

I am just about through with an enormous afghan that I made for son's girlfriend. I am not proud of it, because I made some mistakes and am just covering them up, not correcting like I should. It will keep her warm next winter, or she can fold it up and make a dog bed out if it. I am just glad to be through with it. I have too many other projects lined up and too little time.

I'm with you regarding that afghan! Each time I catch the show, I keep an eye out for scenes in the living room so I can admire it. The jewel tones are so complimentary. It may be tedious right now as you work it, but I hope you'll have great satisfaction when it's complete.

I made a lot of granny squares when I was between jobs. Now I have them stored in empty shoe boxes. How do I put them together?

My last big crochet project was interlocking flowers. As you can see, my cat likes it!
