Recently there was a discussion on a head band the teacher was using to protect her ears when out on the playground.
I private messaged her and decided to share with everyone else.
When I made one for myself, I knit two 2" square pieces of wool and sewed them to the inside of my headband to assure the wind wouldn't get to my ears causing me an ear ache. I call them my ear muffs.
That is a great idea! ;-)

I sewed fleece inside a standard stocking cap and my son said it was much warmer. The hat can be washed with the fleece but maybe not with wool. I am sure the wool would be warmer.
I sewed a fleece band inside my wool ski hat, and it sure makes a difference. I hand stitched it rather loosely so it would stretch a bit like the wool.
