I hope I don't sound like an old crab (well actually the old part is true!) but I would like to suggest that members who post pictures consider plainer backgrounds so that their projects show up better. Some of the backgrounds are absolutely fascinating but they often overpower the projects which are what I'd rather see.

Not everyone is handy with a camera. Everyone that can post a picture should even if their photo talent isn't the best.

The photo advice is good, I'm just more of a "to each his own" sort. Some are happy to simply figure out how to post a photo.

Although this is very good advice, I find myself just finding a spot to lay something on and then take the photo. Sometimes shadows show too, but at least there are photos.

I wasn't referring to anyone's abilities to take and post photos--I have yet to figure out to transfer my pictures from the camera to the computer. What I meant was laying the items on what looks like an arranged background of fabrics and pillows and other things that make a beautiful arrangement on it's own but totally takes away from the main subject. I'm sorry if anyone took my suggestion the wrong way--it was only meant to let us see and appreciate the beautiful knit and crocheted pieces better.

I totally understand what you are saying. Sometimes if a variegated yarn item is laying on a variegated yarn afghan, it is hard to focus on item But then I am another that can't even send pics so I am glad to see all pics.

And that is why I usually put them on the wood floor to take pictures. Occasionally on the bed depending on which cover is on top!

Honestly, I've never even thought about the background. I post quite a few photos. I fully admit I have zero photographic knowledge or talent.

Sorry... You are just going to get poorly lit, less than well thought out quick pics from me.

That and the cheesy selfie (as in my avatar photo!😖😖😖.)

I just don't have the time, talent or skill to improve my pics on KP.😢😢😢

I think it is very sound advice.
Do hope you will be feeling better soon.

That's pretty much how it is with me, too.

Your point is a good one but I am so interested in the project that I couldn't tell you what is in the background.
