I have a pattern that states: kfb 4 times, kfbf 4 times. The directions are for a stuffed mouse. I've seen kfb=Knit Front (and) Back but the kfbf is stumping me. Any thoughts??

I'd say it's knit front, back, front--turning one stitch into 3.

I have found that if I do a search on YouTube I can find videos with "how to" do just about anything. Seeing things done always helps me. Reading it, not so much. lol
It is Knit front, back, front in same stitch to increase.
Check out youtube. it really helps me.

Youtube is a great place to find knitting info vids. I have a friend that did Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise sweater and had difficulty with the pattern. She did it step by step, knitting along with the youtube videos. Now that I'm preparing for my 10th grandchild (YAY..shameless bragging) I'm going to try it that way myself.

Thanks folks. I'm really not one for You Tube. Too much of stuff that I don't want to see. I'd rather just talk to knitters.

hmmm. Don't have to watch anything that you don't ask for. I have learned to knit by watching videos on Youtube. If I need to find out how to do a stitch I put in the name of the stitch and up pops several videos made by real knitters. Perhaps I am a visual learner and you are a reading learner. Whichever is easier.

U choose what you want to see by doing a search & most likely will never have anything pop up that you would not want to see. I, too, avoid cetain things but have learned so much from the knitting videos on youtube. I urge you to try it. Good luck.

Yes it means knit into front of stitch, do not take stitch off needle-knit into back loop of the same stitch-do not take stitch off needle-knit again into the front of the same stitch. A bit awkward the first couple of times you do it but it doesn't take long to feel comfortable with it.
