Very sad. Always loved Debbie Reynolds singing and dancing in all those lovely old Musicals and I pretended to be her when a
teenager, singing "Tammy's in Love".
The photo they were showing yesterday of Eddie and her and Carrie, as a baby was a beautiful photo indeed.

I have just read this on the computer news and yes, it is very sad such a well known and loved 'star' has passed on but unfortunately as we all age this is becoming more and more the norm for our age group.
By the same token I did not personally know any of the 'stars' and am sorry their loved ones have lost them but I mourn more for family members and friends who meant the world to me - they are the loved one who I really miss.

After years of being estranged from one another, and each struggling with their own personal issues, Debbie and Carrie finally reconciled and had a loving and caring relationship. A child passing before the parent(s) is unbelievably tragic. No doubt, Debbie died of a broken heart. Hope they are both in that place where there is joy and peace forever. RIP Carrie and Debbie. My heartfelt condolences to Todd Fisher and Carrie's daughter. This is very, very sad news.

Debbie's Mother was Maxine (1913–1999) and her Father was Raymond Francis Reynolds (1903–1986).

Could she have killed herself?

She told her son died that she wanted to be with Carrie.

If you mean "intended herself into" having a stroke - - it's probably possible.

I just read up on broken heart syndrome. Because of the stress, a part of the heart stops working. Some have died (Johnny Cash) but most survive the episode. It looks like the stress was too much. I think this is better this way as losing a child is the worst and what is the point of living thru that at 84? I would jump out the window.

If the heart stops working, it can cause anoxia (lack of oxygen) to the brain, but not a stroke - - so if there is intentional causation, it's likely different than you think.

I personally think she took some pills and the family is saying a stroke. But I have no proof of this.
