I can't wait! August 21 of this August there will be the first full solar eclipse since 1979, visible in North America. Also visible will be Venus and Mercury. I love these celestial events! In the words of my favorite movie....." There will be a day without a night, and a night without a day"..
(Kudos if you know the movie without looking it up!)

For me, it was Rutger Haur,(Etienne Navarre), head to toe in black on that huge horse! He was my first celebrity crush. Good guys don't always wear white!

Cool! The only full solar eclipse I've seen was in Munich about 15 years ago. It was spooky and awesome at the same time.

I've only seen one full sola eclipse in my life and I was in high school. We just don't get them in Alaska. Lots of partial but not the full that I remember. I was amazed at how the flowers closed up and the birds all went to sleep. It was really fantastic. I'll have to check this one out. Maybe I can take a trip to visit family in August.

We hope to be in America for this event. When we had the last one 1999? My family all went down to Cornwall as that was the best place to experience it. Well the weather was awful no chance if seeing it. Hubby watched it on the tele while I took our two boys down to the beach. Only we couldn't see anything but the atmosphere changed, loads of others came down to the beach, it was quite eerie. The annoying thing is that if we had stayed at home we would have seen something of it. Hope we have better luck this time.
