Tried Sirdar's Toscana cotton yarn?
http://www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/sirdar-toscana-dk-val-d-orcia-115-100g

It's fairly new out I think and I wonder how soft and nice it is to work with. Only ever used cotton once before and didn't like it at all.

I would like to use it for this little summer skirt.

This yarn looks lovely with yummy colors and the skirt is very cute. Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with cotton. My area is hot most of the year & cotton is the perfect fiber. It's the lack of "spring", that you find in wool, that is hard for me to accept. If your pattern is specifically for this yarn, it's should work.... but I'd still expect some sagging. Sometimes I mix a finer (lace weight) nylon or rayon to help.

Yes, I'm with you on that! Fell for the pretty colours but really in my heart I know a cotton acrylic mix would be better.....
The pattern does say it's suitable for cotton yarn - decisions, decisions and so hard to choose colours online.

It's a cute pattern with a lot of detail & looking at what other yarns were used I would hesitate to use all cotton yarn. It's a bit heavy & tends to sag some after wearing. My preference would be a cotton/acrylic blend & there are some nice ones out there. I have knit with Cascade Sunseeker & Avalon, both come in array of colors and is a dk weight. Have made lots of baby items with both, plus some cowls. Knits up nice...

Thanks! Really dithering about yarn. Can't seem to decide which is unusual for me!
