I have a skein of this (which I'm knitting with and it's just fine). I'm wondering if anyone can give me a ball-park idea of how OLD this yarn might be. I tried writing to Caron and they said it was discontinued when they bought the company in 2012. It's made of 60% Creslan and 40% nylon. The dye lot is 22701 138505 Color White. The price sticker on it is from SSKresge and it's priced at 68¢. Anybody?

Ravelry mentions that it was .79 in the 80's.

This thread mentions a pattern book from 1985 that used it.... http://www.knittingparadise.com/t-71254-1.html

This pattern pamphlet is from 1990... https://www.amazon.com/Dazzleaire-Pattern-Book-Caron/dp/B001D4L3XU

So 80s, 90's?

I remember making stuff with it in the mid 70s to maybe early 80s.

Yes, I recall that yarn. Can't remember if I still have it in my stash; or if I donated it to someone. Have some boxes of yarn that are vintage that I haven't been through in a long time. Bought it in the late 70's & sometimes see it at the thrift store.

With it having an SSKresge price tag on it, my "guesstimate" would be late 60s, early 70s. The last time I can remember shopping at Kresge was when I was in high school. I graduated in 1970.

I worked in Kresge's basement for Christmas in 1958 when I was in high school. As for the yarn, I remember using it in the early 1970s. It hasn't been around in decades.

The last of the Kresge stores were sold off in 1987, so your yarn was purchased before then.

Had a sweater my mom made in the late 60s. May not have been baby but she liked the Dazzle Aire line of yarn.

I made myself a sweater with dazzle afire in the late 70's.
I think it was discontinued sometime in the 80's.
I wish I could still get it. Have a few in my stash still.

I loved this yarn. So soft. It probably came from the late 70's or early 80's. I still have a few bits in my bits and bobs bin that I use for teddy bear sweaters or twiddle muffs. I'd buy more if they made it again.

Oh! This is great! I have a big box of that beautiful yarn! Let's see?? How much is it worth??? Any offers? Start high!!! 😄🤔 Never mind..I will go in today and hug it! I just had an idea...too late! We should take a picture of all we make and keep album with yarn used, date and yarn price.

I made myself a poncho with that yarn in worsted weight in 1986 when I was pregnant with my dear daughter. I couldn’t button my coat, lol.

I would think by the price it would be the early 70's. I was crocheting A LOT while I was in high school and that's about the price I remember.

I wish they would start making it again. I can think a quite a few things I would like to make with it.
