We leave for a little r and r in Hilton Head this week. 2weeks away from snow. We’ve been to Savannah before and loved it and did drive through a bit of Hilton Head. Any thoughts on places to see? Thank you

From Hilton Head to Charleston is 98 miles, and there is so much history to see here. Also, it hasn't gotten hot yet, making it a great time to park near The Battery and walk around. You can see Fort Sumter from The Battery and also tour it. There are beautiful old churches, cemeteries, houses that can be entered with excellent guides, the City Market, art galleries, SC Aquarium, Confederate Museum, the Charleston Museum which is one of the oldest museums in the country, the haunted jail which has been featured on "Mysteries at the Museum" TV show,........ All of these things are within walking distance of each other, and there is so much more to see.
Have great fun on your vacation!

My favorite vacation ever was at Hilton Head Island. My sister took me with her as a gift. If you want a relaxing time Hilton Head is perfect - especially coming from a northern climate. Great beaches to relax on, beautiful scenery, lots of restaurants to try, and friendly people.

If it is at all on your way, take time to visit Jekkyl Island, lovely, historical, peaceful, fun....anything you'd like. Sorry I put off going there for so long!

I have been to HH four times with my family and we will be going again during Easter week. We have gone to Savannah and took the bus tour once. That was fun, but I just enjoy the warmer weather, hanging out at the beach and biking everywhere on the wonderful bike trails. Enjoy your vacation from the bold north.

No, I've never been to Hilton Head but I've heard it's marvelous...the place to get away and unwind in a very relaxing setting.

Hi ChrisGV, I live in Hilton Head. Retired there from the cold, ice and snow on Long Island.
It is a magical Island and I am sure you will love it. Many good restaurants, ( One Hot Mamas, Black Marlin, Boathouse, Frankie Bones, Sunrise Cafe for breakfast.
You can ride your bikes ON the beach and on many of the bike trails. The Island is pet friendly and people friendly. Harbor Town offers Dolphin cruises, pirate cruises for children and dinner cruises. Many restaurants there too. If you get a chance stop by Needlepoint Junction in Wexford Plaza. It is a wonderful yarn and needlepoint shop. I work there two days a week so come in and say hello.

We are so looking forward to this. I will definitely come in and say hi. We are bringing our Bassett and dachshund mix pups. They are our travel buddies.

We plan to get to Charleston again. We saw Charleston and Savannah about 8years ago with friends and saw many of the historical places in Charleston. It is a wonderful place to learn and relax. The museum was a historical trip through the south.
