My father would have called this an F-T-D-K. ( Funny Thing Don't Know ). I came across this thing in the bottom of a rather large tin of buttons and spools of thread my Mom had. Alas, Mom &, Dad are both gone.

It's such a strange thing to me, that I'd like to know it's use.

Looks like it could be some kind of hair fastener . . .or a holder for small bits of fiber-y stuff. Just guesses . . .

It's a hair curler my mother used them in the 1950s. The ends of hair was gripped between the two prongs then wound round and then it was closed. She used them all over her head and then slept in them.

It is a vintage hair wave clip roller.

I thought it looked like a bobby pin inside of some other metaly thing. Not very specific, but I didn’t say I knew what it is.

Wow. Thanks, folks. I can't imagine sleeping on them. I'm going to see if I can get my grand daughter to let me try it on her once she's back home from Easter break at her mom's.I
