I've had internet problems for a week and just finally got the satellite fixed yesterday so I am sorry this is late. I want to thank all those who replied to my call for help on which sock heel wears the best. I learned a wealth of information from all of you and am so grateful for your help. Quite a few of you suggested Eye of Partridge come to find out is the one I have been doing because told years ago I had been that was the best wearing one. But I intend to try the other suggestions too, to broaden my knitting ability. All the other suggestions, e.g. type of yarn, tightness of stitches, fit, etc. were also great tips. Thank you all.
What was the url of the other thread? My husband wants me to teach him sock knitting and he is hard on socks, especially at the heel and the ball of his foot.
Eye of Partridge is actually a stitch pattern of 2 rows repeated on the heel and can be used on different types of heels. It is easy to do and works well on the fleegle heel and on the heel flap type heels. I don't know if it works on FLK or Sweet Tomato as I don't use them. You can use them with toe-up and top-down socks.
Yes, thank you. Bookmarked it.
