Hello dear KPers,

Can anyone please help me identify the yarn used for this knitted zig zag scarf? Has anyone knitted this? Thank you for your help.

It is a variation of Feather and Fan....Usually it is a 2 or 3 yarn (fingering/DK)... Not sure what yours is.... but it is really pretty....

In the write-up it says the yarn is hand dyed by the writer.... so, not a yarn you can purchase in those colors.

Yes. There are so many beautiful hand dyed yarns available. Go look at etsy and see for yourself. Surely you can find something you'll love, even if it isn't this precise colorway.

Looks like you'll need two different colorway yarns of hand dyed yarns. One should have vivid colors & the other muted or lighter colors. You will have to alternate the two colors every few rows. Did a reverse search on the picture & it led me to Pinterest where it was posted that the scarf is a variation of the Old Shale pattern using M1 increases in place of the YO's in the pattern...just an FYI.

It is a fingering yarn. You use two different skeins, some use two zobberballs which make beautiful zig zags. Yes, I have made one and it came out beautiful 😊

I'm sure I saw some yarn like that at Ice Yarns... I'll go have a look to see if I can find it

This is thicker, but I do remember seeing a thinner yarn as I usually only buy thinner yarns

Another similar, which comes in a range of colours

Multi-colored yarn tends to change over time in going darker or lighter. My sister was looking for one called Mexicana yellow and orange) and it showed up again a few years later. I bought some bluish multi-colored yarn and when I went back, I noticed that the yarn now had a darker blue in it - darker than what I had bought a few weeks ago. (They did have one skein left of the first yarn, so I ended up buying some of both.)
Bare yarn is for dying. Try searching for red, blue, yellow ... yarn on cone.
